Ground Maintenance Operative

Pertemps are recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Operative based in Llanelli on a temporary basis to deliver a high-quality grounds maintenance service across a range of public open spaces.

Salary: £12.84 per hour
Hours: 43 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 5:00pm
(Flexibility required – occasional early starts and some weekend working may be necessary)
Location: Llanelli

The role:

• Carry out general grounds maintenance such as grass cutting, hedge trimming and maintaining sports areas
• Mark out and maintain sports pitches, including grass, artificial and synthetic surfaces
• Complete basic construction and practical tasks, including site preparation and following plans
• Clean public areas including changing rooms, toilets, playgrounds and parks
• Safely apply pesticides following instructions and legal requirements
• Use hand tools, powered tools, machinery, tractors and tractor-mounted equipment
• Visually check playground equipment and record findings as required
• Follow all health and safety rules, policies and safe working practices at all times
• Make sure all vehicles, tools and machinery are safe, roadworthy and well maintained
• Carry out duties across the Environment Department as required

Requirements:

• Full, valid UK driving licence with the ability to tow trailers
• Previous experience in grounds maintenance or a similar role
• Experience of Working with Hand Tools, Powered Vibrating Machinery and Light Plant
• NPTC PA6A certificate (Desirable)
