Bookings Assistant
Location: Royal Bournemouth Hospital (Onsite)
Contract Type: Temporary - Up to 3 months
Start Date: ASAP
Working Pattern: Full-time, Monday–Friday (occasional weekend working may be required)
Pay: £14.02 per hour

Role Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Temporary Staffing Bookings Assistant to support the operational delivery of temporary workforce coordination services within an NHS acute hospital setting.
This role requires an individual who can step into the position immediately and deliver at pace, ensuring efficient booking, coordination, and management of bank staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage temporary staffing bookings across designated services.
  • Liaise with clinical and non-clinical departments to fulfil staffing requests promptly.
  • Ensure appropriate deployment of bank staff in line with service requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records using Healthroster and ESR systems.
  • Monitor staffing levels and escalate gaps appropriately.
  • Ensure compliance with NHS policies and workforce governance standards.
  • Support the Temporary Workforce team with operational and administrative tasks.
  • Assist with occasional weekend staffing coordination as required.

Essential Requirements
  • Previous NHS experience within a temporary staffing / bank staffing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Healthroster.
  • Experience using ESR (Electronic Staff Record).
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume bookings in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver operationally from day one.
  • DBS clearance is required; having an existing DBS would be beneficial.
