Maintenance Electrician / Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Dudley
Salary: Circa £36,000 basic + overtime (OTE significantly higher)
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent | Weekly Paid
Shift Pattern: Shift Pattern (40 Hours Per Week)
Week 1: Mon–Fri | 6:00am – 2:00pm
Week 2: Mon–Thurs | 8:00pm – 6:00am
Week 3: Mon–Thurs | 2:00pm – 12:00am
The Opportunity
Our client, a well-established heavy industrial manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced production environment, offering strong earning potential through overtime and shift allowances.
You will work as part of a 2-person team alongside a Mechanical Fitter, covering planned preventative maintenance, reactive breakdowns, and installation work across factory and process machinery.

You will work as part of a 2-person team alongside a Mechanical Fitter, covering planned preventative maintenance, reactive breakdowns, and installation work across factory and process machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs
- Install and maintain factory and process machinery
- Fault finding on 415V, 240V, 110V, and 24VAC/DC systems
- Interpret and work from electrical circuit diagrams
- PLC fault finding (I/O checks – no programming required)
- Diagnose faults on overhead cranes (OHCs), remote handsets, contactors, and fuses
- Maintain and upgrade high bay lighting (including LED conversions)
- Test emergency lighting and evacuation alarm systems
- Assist with control panel building and basic CCT design
- Complete shift reports and ensure all work is carried out safely and professionally
- Candidate Requirements
- Completed Apprenticeship / Time Served (preferred)
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Electrical Maintenance or equivalent
- 18th Edition IEE Regulations (preferred but not essential)
- Experience within a heavy industrial environment
- Experience with slitting/decoiling machinery (advantageous)
- Full UK Driving Licence (preferred but not essential)
