Mechanical Building Services Engineer

The Role
Working as part of the Building Services team, you will contribute to the design and delivery of mechanical systems across a variety of projects from concept through to completion.
Responsibilities include:
- Producing mechanical building services designs including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, domestic water and public health systems
- Preparing design calculations, technical reports and specifications
- Developing coordinated designs using Revit, CAD and mechanical design software
- Assisting with compliance against current Building Regulations and relevant industry standards
- Carrying out site surveys, inspections, condition reports and witnessing activities
- Attending design meetings and providing technical input throughout project delivery
- Coordinating designs with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers and external consultants
- Supporting multidisciplinary project delivery from feasibility through to construction
- Working closely with senior engineers to develop technical knowledge and professional competence
- Contributing to the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Experience within Mechanical Building Services Design
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Good understanding of HVAC and mechanical building services systems
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience producing mechanical calculations, reports and specifications
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary design team
- Eligibility to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available)
- Revit MEP experience
- Experience using mechanical design and calculation software such as Hevacomp, IES, CyMap or similar
- Knowledge of UK Building Regulations, CIBSE guidance and British Standards
- Experience carrying out site surveys and inspections
- Working towards or already holding EngTech, IEng or CEng status
