Are you a dynamic leader with a flair for operational excellence, continuous improvement, and team development?

We are seeking a forward-thinking Sampling Field Operations Manager to head up a new team collecting samples to commission upgraded treatment processes across water & waste services for the Capital Delivery team. This is a new high-profile role at the heart of our organisation, crucial to delivering environmental standards.

In this pivotal position, you’ll ensure we meet and exceed ISO17025, Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI), and Environment Agency requirements, all while delivering top-quality services on time and within budget. We’re looking for someone with vision, energy, and a commitment to continuous improvement – someone ready to make a lasting impact.

What you’ll be doing as a Sampling Field Operations Manager in Capital Delivery:
  • Build, lead and manage a sampling team.
  • Champion health & safety.
  • Deliver high-quality and compliant sampling services.
  • Drive technical excellence & operational efficiency.
  • Manage budgets and resources.

Base location: Flexible (London / Reading area)

Working pattern or hours: Mon-Fri 9-5 (36 hrs per week)

What you should bring to the role
  • Extensive industry experience in water or waste sampling – you know your stuff!
  • A proven track record in leading, motivating, and developing teams.
  • Demonstrable success in delivering services to regulatory standards.
  • Sharp focus on operational efficiency and performance management.
  • A strong communicator, able to engage stakeholders across technical and operational areas
  • Comfortable working with SLAs and KPIs.
  • A degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent experience.

Additional technical skills and experience we are looking for:
  • Knowledge of ISO17025 standards.
  • Understanding of DWI and/or EA regulations.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • IT literate and strong data handling skills

  • This role will be paid from £46565 to £50,000 per annum ,depending on skills and experience
