Job Role: Transport Manager
Hours: 10-hour day shift, Monday to Friday
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 (DOE)
We are seeking an experienced Transport Manager on behalf of our client to join their freight forwarding company. The Transport Manager will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the fleet and maintaining compliance with all relevant transport regulations.

We are seeking an experienced Transport Manager on behalf of our client to join their freight forwarding company. The Transport Manager will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the fleet and maintaining compliance with all relevant transport regulations.
Ideal Candidate:
- Proven ability to work effectively within a team and alongside other transport managers
- Minimum of five years’ experience in a transport department managing HGVs
- Held a CPC for at least 2 years
- Valid UK driving licence for cars and light commercial vehicles
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Maintain vehicle planner and fleet documentation, arranging preventative maintenance and enforcing VOR policy
- Keep Operator’s Licence data accurate and compliant with the Office of the Traffic Commissioner and DVSA
- Monitor driver defects, addressing issues promptly and ensuring compliance
- Oversee vehicle and driver tachograph downloads, resolving missing mileage and infringements
- Review tachograph data and manage WTD reports for senior management
- Update RHA portal and fleet spreadsheets, keeping driver licences and DCPC training current
- Manage vehicle defects and provide daily handovers to maximise fleet availability
- Engage national and EU suppliers to ensure compliance and reduce long-term costs
- Ensure all vehicles are legally compliant and correctly recorded against the Operator’s Licence
- Lead accident investigations and liaise with insurers and third parties to minimise downtime
- Provide guidance to operational teams on transport legislation, logistics, and EU driving regulations.
