JOB DESCRIPTION

Passenger Services Assistants are professionals who work in the transportation industry, assisting passengers with various needs and ensuring a smooth and positive travel experience. They can be employed in various modes of transportation, including airports, train stations, bus terminals, and cruise terminals.

QUALIFICATIONS

Entrants usually possess GCSEs/S grades. Fluency in a foreign language may also be required in some posts. Training typically lasts between 3 to 6 weeks followed by a 6 to 12 month probationary period of on-the-job training.

TASKS

  • Assist passengers with inquiries, providing information on schedules, routes, services, and facilities available at the transportation terminal..

  • Assist passengers with luggage, including helping with loading and unloading baggage and providing information on baggage claim procedures..

  • Handle lost and found items, assist passengers in reporting and locating lost belongings, and follow established procedures for lost property..
  • Be familiar with emergency procedures and assist in evacuations or emergency situations, coordinating with relevant authorities..
  • Use communication systems to make announcements, relay important information to passengers, and coordinate with other staff members..
  • Provide information on additional services, promotions, or products, and assist passengers with making purchases when applicable..
  • Address passenger complaints or concerns promptly and professionally, seeking resolutions to ensure customer satisfaction..
