JOB DESCRIPTION

A Storesperson is responsible for overseeing the efficient management of a warehouse or storage facility, ensuring the proper receipt, storage, and distribution of goods. This role involves tasks related to inventory control, order processing, and maintaining a well-organized and accessible storage system.

QUALIFICATIONS

There are no formal academic entry requirements. Training is typically provided Off or on-the-job. NVQs/ in Warehousing and Storage are available at Levels 1, 2 and 3.

TASKS

  • Maintain accurate inventory records through regular stock checks and data entry..
  • Utilize inventory management systems to track and update product information..
  • Coordinate and participate in the picking and packing of products based on order requirements..
  • Oversee the labelling and proper packaging of items for shipment..
  • Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities, and inspect goods for damages or discrepancies..
  • Report any issues to supervisors and collaborate with relevant teams for resolution..
  • Organize products in designated storage areas to ensure efficient space utilization..
  • Implement and maintain an organized shelving system for easy accessibility..
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks as needed..
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment and coordinate repairs when necessary..
  • Complete and maintain detailed records of inventory movements, including receipts and shipments..
  • Prepare shipping and receiving documentation in compliance with established procedures..
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, supervisors, and other team members..
  • Provide regular updates on inventory levels, order status, and any issues impacting warehouse operations..
  • Oversee and conduct quality checks on received and shipped items..
  • Collaborate with the quality control team to address and resolve any quality issues..
  • Enforce adherence to safety protocols and guidelines during all warehouse activities..
  • Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly..
